MESSAGE FROM THE RECTOR,
Welcome to the Immaculate Heart of Mary Cathedral Parish web site. We are one of the two parishes located on Weno, Chuuk, Federated States of Micronesia. There used to be only one parish here on Weno until the Holy Family Parish was established on July 30, 1986. Our main goal this year is to deepen the faith dimension of the faithful through the use of the Sacraments, especially through the Eucharist. We emphasize the Liturgy of the Eucharist to be the center of the life of the faithful in this parish. It takes time and patience but we are getting there slowly but confidently through the loving care of the Immaculate Heart of our Blessed Mother and of course, by the prompting of the Holy Spirit.
Being the Cathedral of this Diocese, major events of the Diocese are expected to be held here at the Church, but most of the time in the past these events have been held else where due to the lack of space in the Church. So the parishioners here are working hard in fund raising and praying for dues from friends like you. When the present plan of expansion of the church building goes through, we will be able to accommodate 880 to 1000 more people inside the Church.
